TERIFILMS

My name is Craig Gabriel, and my passion is making films.

My main purpose in putting up this website is to enable people--especially people who might be interested in arranging a film about themselves or someone they know--to get to know a little more about me, the way I operate, the kind of films I do, my philosophy and values concerning filmmaking, etc.

Toward that end, I've constructed several pages for you to explore.  So take a look around, and if you have any questions, or you'd like to communicate with me, here's my contact information:

For several years, I made films as a hobby.  These were mostly films about the people in my life.  By 2008 I had put together a fair amount of experience, tried out and gotten comfortable with some styles, and developed some skills (though I'm the first to admit I'm always learning and I have a long way to go).  And perhaps most importantly, I had learned that making my kind of films was something I could throw myself into and really believe in.

I decided at that time to pursue the filmmaking more seriously and "go pro."  I sent out a letter outlining my intentions to a lot of people I know, with extra copies for them to share with anyone who might be interested.  Certainly not a big marketing effort, but more a "dipping a toe in the water" kind of thing to get a little word of mouth going amongst people I knew, many of whom had some familiarity with my films already.

So if you didn't already receive the letter way back when, this is one place you may want to start if you want to learn more about me and what I'm trying to do through my filmmaking:  Introductory letter

Here are a few more paragraphs of introductory material about my filmmaking, including a discussion of pricing:  My approach to filmmaking

Although my filmmaking interests are wide-ranging, and I am available to work on projects beyond the types I happen to have done so far, one way I can convey to you who I am as a filmmaker is to tell about my history, to describe the films I've created:  Description and discussion of completed projects, including samples

Awhile back I wrote up some notes you might find interesting on various factors that can make for a good oral history or documentary style interview:  Interview pointers
